The daisy stitch baby blanket that I’ve been knitting is coming together much slower than I anticipated. I was trying to stick to a schedule but my husband was sick last week and his work schedule has been sporadic which in turn means my schedule has been thrown off balance. So I’ve only managed to knit up a few rows of this blanket, although I can already tell that I’m going to love it. The pattern and the border work so well together. Ahhh, I can’t wait to finish it!
I started working on this cowl last weekend when the weather suddenly changed. It’s been feeling more and more like fall and a lot less like spring/summer. I’ve been having a hard time finding light weight yarn at the local big box store, so I chose to use a soft baby yarn. I don’t want this to be one of those chunky cowls that are great for winter but rather a thinner one that’s perfect for those cool summer nights. I’m using a simple pattern so this cowl should knit up fairly quickly.
The piece I’m most excited about this week is a knit elephant toy. I have a nice stash of baby yarns and decided it was time to try something new, like a toy. I found this pattern in an old magazine and thought it would be perfect for my first attempt at a knit toy. I have yet to finish the trunk and ears but the remaining toy parts are complete, however not assembled yet.
I’ve unraveled the market bag that I was working on last week. Turns out I didn’t like the chosen yarn one bit, it was to heavy. I found new yarn at a local craft store Caron Simply SoftΒ and it’s light weight. I’m hoping this yarn will be better suited for the market bag.
