Tools Every Knitter Needs

Aside from yarn and needles, there are other tools that every knitter needs in order to finish their project. And if you are (or know) a knitter, I’m sure these tools are all over the house (they are in mine :))

My regularly used knitting tools.

In no particular order there’s:

Knitting Gauge/Ruler: To check the size of my DPNs and to check my knitting guage.

Crochet Hook: In case I miss a stitch, or make an error.

Tapestry Needle (Bent or Straight): For weaving in ends and seaming projects together.

Ruler (Tape): To measure the length of my knitting work.

Peacock Scissors: A cute pair to cut my delicate yarn

Cable Needle: Two types, the curved one is my favourite.

Stitch Markers: Extras of the ones I make. They always seem to pretty up my WIPs.

There are other ones that aren’t as crucial like a blocking kit (a mat and blocking pins). There are plenty of ways to block your work without a blocking kits. Laying your wet work on the ground on a towel and blocking using sewing pins works just as well. I’ve had my eye on this swift and ball winder. They’re both totally unnecessary (I can easily roll yarn into a ball by hand) but I want them.

What are your favourite tools?
