Making a Gorgeous Stitch Marker

I usually only talk about knitting and I like reading about knitting. More importantly, I like knowing the process people go through when coming up with patterns and new ideas. So I thought I’d let you in on my process. Not for knitting (that will come later) but rather for making gorgeous stitch markers. So here’s my thought process. 1. …

Eeek Mold

Well I’m not sure if it’s mold, it’s more of a bad water stain(I just like being dramatic). On Thursday we found a nice size water stain underneath our night stand in our upstairs bedroom and a small stain on the ceiling. It looked horrifying and I refused to take pictures of it, so I have none to show you. …

WIP Wednesdays

I’ve been working on my Etsy shop these past two weeks. A new banner, new listings, being more active in teams and forums. The new listings I’m talking about are stitch markers. So my knitting projects have been temporary put on hold. I still work on them just not as much as I would like to. Here’s are the items …

Happy Anniversary

Yesterday my husband and I celebrated our first year anniversary. Yup, we are no longer newlyweds. My in-laws came over to celebrate, we had an awesome BBQ. Chicken, shrimp, short ribs, corn, garlic bread, and salad; all incredibly delicious. I most definitely ate too much but it was worth it. And the best part was a chocolate mousse cake. Oh …

Niagara Falls

It’s almost a year now that my husband and I have been married. Seems like just yesterday we had 10 people trying to cram into our small 3 bedroom house while I was trying to get everything ready for the big day. To celebrate my in-laws sent us to Niagara Falls for the weekend. I’m not so sure it was …

WIP Wednesdays

I’m finally getting the hang of using DPNs, so all of today’s WIPs were started (and finished soon) using DPNs. The basic baby hat has a simple K1, P1 ribbing followed by a stockinette stitch all the way to the crown. I’ve been testing out a few different patterns for baby mitts. The first is a seed stitch border with …

Pretty Pictures

There are some pretty item pictures on Etsy. They’re so bright, crisp and clean. They make me aware of my lack in photography skills. I haven’t the first clue on good lighting, proper positioning, aperture, and all other photography terms. I’ve been trying to do my research, but my digital camera is quite old. My husband tells me that the …

WIP Wednesdays ( a day late)

I completely spaced and thought (almost all day) that yesterday was Tuesday. I hate those days, where you go on believing you have so much time left in your week and BOOM you don’t. But hey, what can you do? Now for my WIPs. I started knitting this Panda leg at the cottage. I think it’s a little small to …

Back to our Regular Routine

And I’m Back! Our week long cottage vacation was great. A week of sleeping in late, swimming, tanning, pontoon rides, sea-doo rides, 4-wheeler rides, saunas, bonfires, fireworks and best of all sunshine. That’s right, not a single drop of rain, only half aΒ gloomy day. Here are some gorgeous pictures.   Now it’s time to get back to our regular …

Happy Canada Day!

I know there’s still a few days before Canada Day but the Hubby and I and our little dog Crosby are heading to my parents Cottage for a week tomorrow. It’s quite a ways away and there’s no internet connection so I won’t be writing any new post next week. We are very much looking forward to this getaway. But …
