It’s been a hectic fall. I spent October travelling, first to Montreal then to Thunder Bay. I babysat my cousins 3 kids in Montreal (6, 8 and 10) and I was super worried because let’s be honest 3 kids that don’t really have to listen to me for 5 full days while Mom and Dad enjoy New York. But I loved it, almost every minute of it. I took them to hockey games, to gymnastics, we played games and did science experiments and just had fun. Then off to Thunder Bay to visit my friend and her 6 week old baby Nolan. The cutest kid ever. He was content all day and only fussed about 10 minutes in the evening. She even put him in some of the sweater I made for him. And yes I spent all day holding him!
November wasn’t any better. It’s a crazy month of retail as Christmas Decorating now starts and we all just received so many extra shifts. So when I wasn’t working retail and I was working on a few projects. I started a throw for our new couches. And I’ve also been working on felt slippers and 2 hats which are orders from friends.
We’re also getting our basement finished which means that all our junk that was in storage in the basement is now on the main floor or shoved into our guest rooms. The basements not that big and yet its still going on 2 months to finish and it’s making me crazy. I need it to be finished so I can clean/get rid of all the extra junk we have. This pictures from a few weeks ago, we now have drywall up and its been taped and mudded (I think I’m saying that right).
And lastly, I put up my Christmas Tree. It was almost impossible with everything all over the place but I somehow manage to squish most of the furniture on 2 walls and hide a bunch of junk (I feel like I should be saying treasures instead of junk but let’s be real and call it was it is π ) behind it. And tada just enough room to squeeze that tree in the living room. Here’s a day time picture because the lights on the top foot of the tree are burnt out and it looks hilarious in pictures. A brightly lit tree that cuts off near the top and it looks even more ridiculous when it’s dark outside. But here’s a good-ish image of the tree.
And yes, those are all fake presents (except for the 2 with actual wrapping paper). I’m not a fan of nothing under the tree ever so I wrapped the ornament boxes (one end is easy to open) and when I take down the tree I put those ornaments back in the wrapped “presents”. SoΒ really they’re always functional. I love it.
I’ve been working on a few Christmas gifts (crocheted) so I’ll be showing those pictures in a few days.
Happy Knitting,
Ashley
