Before I knit a sweater for myself, I thought it appropriate to knit one for our dog, Crosby. He is a 2.5 year old mini golden doodle that loves to cuddle with you or take naps under blanket. Seriously, he will cuddle with you for an entire movie and not even move.
He is a fairly small dog, so I knew this project wouldn’t take long at all. A days and a half max. I found a great pattern, well the basic shape and I tailored the pattern for Crosby’s size. The pattern is courtesy of Talking Tails and can be foundΒ at http://www.talkingtails.com/sweater.html.
There are more changes that I will need to make for his next sweater. For one, the neck is way to small. And I mean that length wise, it’s not choking him. And I would need to make it a little bit longer.
Crosby hates wearing clothes and boot and anything really. He just stands like a statue and refuses to move. It took me about 20 minutes and the bribing with treats to get this photo. So I will probably only make Crosby one more sweater and maybe some Holiday ones (I can’t help it, they’re so cute!). We have a friend whose dog loves sweater and outfits, so I will be making a bunch for him (Ziggy, I’m talking about you :)).
What have you knitting for your beloved pet lately?
Happy Knitting,
Ashley
