I’ve been quite sporadic with my posts lately and there’s a reason for that. About a month or so ago I got a job at the local craft store here in Milton. It’s actually a chain craft store, but when I got the job they made us sign these contracts where we wouldn’t speak poorly of them on social media sites and blogs. But that’s besides the point.
I applied for the job because I wanted to help my husband (my ever so supportive husband) with our savings. And I figured this would get me out of the house and chatting with other crafty folks for a few hours, a few days a week (and the discount on yarn doesn’t hurt either). But what I thought was going to be a few evening shifts turned out to be day shifts (4-5 hrs) at least 5 days a week. Every week these shifts change, so it’s taking me some time to get into somewhat of a routine.
However, there’s still ample time to knit. I’ve been wanting to create more knit toys because they’re just so darn cute! And I’ve got body and limb patterns but I have problems with shaping their heads. Ideally, I wanted to make a panda bear but something about those eyes seemed daunting. So I took it a step back and decided to start with a simple bear. So after weeks of attempts, I think I finally have a decent head. But the more I look at it, the more I realize that with different ears, it could easily be a fox (and that it won’t really work for a panda head).
But still, isn’t he cute? Now it’s time to knit and assemble his body and limbs.
Happy Knitting,
