I’m finally getting the hang of using DPNs, so all of today’s WIPs were started (and finished soon) using DPNs.
The basic baby hat has a simple K1, P1 ribbing followed by a stockinette stitch all the way to the crown.
I’ve been testing out a few different patterns for baby mitts. The first is a seed stitch border with a no increase stockinette body. The second is a simple ribbed border with a no increase stockinette body. And the third is a moss stitch border with a 6 increase stockinette body.
I like the moss stitch border the most so I decided to try another mitten using two colours and that border. I’m not quite sure how I feel about this look yet. Yes, it does look good but it is painfully obvious on the other side where the purple yarn begins and where it ends. I will most definitely need more practice with changing colours using DPNs.
The purple baby blanket (I’m scared to admit), I forgot about for the better part of last week. I was too excited about FINALLY getting the hang of DPNs and not seeing ladders (loose stitches) in my work. But don’t worry, the novelty will soon wear off and I will be back to the baby blanket.
What’s on your needles?
Happy Knitting,
