Every year I try to set knitting and crochet goals and I share them in the hopes that I will accomplish all of them. They include new skills I’d like to learn, projects I’d like to make and WIPs I’d like to complete. This year is no different.
2019 Goals:
- Spend Quality time with Family: This is a big one. I mean we already spend so much time together as a family but what I’d like is to spend more time doing fun family activities. James will be starting school in September (I still can’t believe it) and I’d like to squeeze in as many family adventures as possible before our schedule revolves around school holidays.
- Knit myself a sweater: I’ve already made myself the Acadia Sweater from We Are Knitters. I haven’t seamed it together yet (still getting rid of the “baby” weight :)) But I loved making something for me. Most of my time is spent making things for others that some selfish knitting or crochet every now and then is quite soothing.
- Get into Baby Hats: I’ve made James & Elizabeth a few hats in the last months and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. They’re quick, easy and the colour combinations are limitless.
- Master C2C colour changes: The one colour C2C (or corner to corner) crochet blankets or projects were easy enough to master. But these colour changes have me scratching my head. I can’t seem to carry the yarn in the stitches (is that even a thing? or possible?). But most importantly I don’t want a lot of ends to weave in (it might be unavoidable). I know this goal is only a YouTube video away but I want to make sure that I tackle it this year.
- Crochet a Christmas Tree Skirt: This has been on my list for a few years now. I can’t seem to find a pattern (or even create one) that displays the type of emotion I’m after. A skirt that screams classic country/rustic Christmas; a skirt that my kids look at and know it’s Christmas; a skirt that they will fight over when they are older because it screams Christmas at home. Is that too much to ask?
I kept my goals to a minimum this year. I want to feel like they are attainable.
What are your goals for 2019?
Happy Knitting,
Ashley
