Aside from my cabled baby blanket, I have been wondering which project to start next. Then I remembered my goal list. So I started this very simple pair of mittens. I chose the pattern Basic Four Needle Mittens from the ‘Patons Next Step Seven Mittens and Gloves’ booklet. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the photos ensured I was on the right step. Since these were going to be my first pair of knitted mittens I didn’t want to spent too much money on nice yarn. I found a pack of 5 skeins of yarn for about $5 (again, thank you Patons ). And using this inexpensive yarn is great because I will inevitably make mistakes that I don’t realize until the end and I won’t feel as if I wasted nice yarn for sub par mittens. I was able to get this far in just a few short hours. I predict that I will have completed my first pair of mittens by the end of the day.
Happy Knitting,
